Finally a truly awesome Richard Serra! It was made for this landscape and in his own words “collects the volume of the land” with its stupendous grace and power. This is one of about 23 sculptures at the privately owned Gibbs Farm, developed by someone almost as eccentric as Mona’s David Walsh, and without a doubt one of the five most outstanding private landscape sculpture collections in the world. Well worth a visit to NZ just for this excursion, only an hour north of Auckland.
